Dr. Pierce is a Jackson, Mississippi native, is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. The University of Mississippi Medical School graduate completed an internal medicine residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis in 1987. Dr. Pierce obtained his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State where he majored in biomedical engineering. Following his training, Dr. Pierce worked as an Emergency Room physician and instructor of medicine at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis. The former UT Assistant Professor of Medicine moved to Paducah, Kentucky in 1991 to practice emergency medicine and later, internal medicine at Western Baptist Hospital. In 1998, Dr. Pierce's career brought him back to Tennessee where he worked as an emergency room physician at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville.
Dr. Pierce worked for Summit for two years before joining Concord Medical Center as a private practitioner in 2003. Dr. Pierce, his wife and children, reside in Knoxville.
